May 2017: Moving to Chennai
After operating as a bootstrapped virtual startup for the first two years, Sportwalk shifted its base to Chennai aiming at serving a wider audience.
July 2017: Rebranding of a TNPL franchise
Sportwalk was commissioned the rebranding project ahead of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2017 season by Ruby Trichy Warriors, a franchise based out of Trichy.
The project involved rebranding, merchandising, social media management, web development and executing the campaigns involving Jonty Rhodes, the brand ambassador of the team. (You can learn more about the project here)
September 2017: Fan Club Memberships
Sportwalk was commissioned the membership kit design and production project by Chelsea India Supporters Club, Manchester United Supporters Club Kerala and Arsenal Hyderabad for the 2017-18 football season.
Spanning over three months, Sportwalk handled the marketing, production, and shipment of 980 membership kits. (You can learn more about the project here)
October 2017: Launch of Sportwalk Huddle
Sportwalk Huddle is an effort, aimed at building fan communities in a locality through meet-ups that bring people together under a single roof to talk, play and interact on the sport they love. The Kickoff edition of the Huddle was organized on 28th October. (You can learn more about the events here)
October – December 2017: Attending Comic Cons
Sportwalk became the first sports comics brand to exhibit at the Comic Con India in the tour of 2017 where it exhibited in Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Bengaluru – garnering visibility of over 70,000 people. (You can learn more about Sportwalk Comics here)
January 2018: Launch of ‘The Wall’ Comic
In collaboration with Rahul Dravid Fans Club, Sportwalk launched ‘The Wall’ – a 32-page comic book as a tribute to the unparalleled legacy that Rahul Dravid left behind. The project was featured across leading media platforms including the BBC. (You can buy the comic book here)
March 2018: Launch of ‘That Night in Munich’
In collaboration with Chelsea India Supporters’ Club, Sportwalk presents ‘ That Night in Munich ’, a memorabilia book on how the London Club turned the tables and forever etched their names in the footballing legacy. (You can buy the memorabilia book here)
April 2018: IPL Campaigns
Marking the return of Chennai Super Kings – Sportwalk organized an offline event in Chennai involving fantasy draft, launched team based products and associated with officially recognized fan clubs of Royal Challengers Bangalore and produced ‘The Red Army’ membership kits. April 2018: Launch of city-based platforms
Sportwalk launched the first set of city-based platforms aimed at providing exclusive sports content on the franchises/ teams/ players from the respective states. Team Chennai, Team Mumbai, and Team Bangalore provided live coverage of the IPL matches across different platforms.
April – May 2018: Highlights Fan Fest
Conceptualised by Sportwalk, Highlights is the first of its kind sports fan festival in India bringing people together through a series of events to celebrate sports. Over 800 people participated in the inaugural edition of the Highlights was organized in Chennai from April 28 to May 06th. (Learn more about the fest here)
